lorraine: I am 60 year old native women. I was born in Chapleau, Ontario in 1951 and my Cree background stems from my grandmother coming from Moose Factory to Missanabie in the early 1900’s. I attribute many of the trapping, hunting and fishing skills of 40 years to my aboriginal side of upbringing. I have a trap line that was passed down to me from my grandfather and then from my mother, of which I still maintain today. I have travelled and talked on harvesting for years and the importance of our traditional rights which is what sustained us as a people since time immemorial. My purpose today is to pass down what I live, love and know to aboriginal people who have lost the way of bush, especially the youth.
